Dressmaker budget planning: a commission worksheet
Player-entered figures · arithmetic worksheet · Reviewed 29 September 2026
Enter the spending limit you want to work within, your planned fabric cost and any accessory cost. The planner subtracts those costs from your limit and shows the remaining amount or overspend.
Copy the numbers from your own game
The official game description includes buying fabric, designing a dress and delivering it to a customer. The worksheet helps you keep your own plan beside that process. Read the values displayed in your game and enter the same unit consistently.
The tool starts blank. Add a budget, fabric cost and accessory cost; enter 0 explicitly if you do not plan to spend anything in a category. An empty field is not silently counted as zero. The figures are a plan, so update them when your choices change.
A worked example
Suppose your chosen limit is 120, fabric will cost 72.50 and accessories will cost 18. The planned spend is 90.50 and the remaining amount is 29.50. These are invented worksheet inputs to demonstrate the calculation, not prices from Dressmaker.
If you change accessories to 60, planned spend becomes 132.50 and the worksheet reports 12.50 over budget. It leaves the overspend visible so you can decide what to change. It does not claim that the customer will accept or reject the dress.
Length and fabric use need an in-game check
The arithmetic cannot infer fabric quantity from a sketch, garment name or desired hem length. Enter the cost for the fabric you intend to buy after checking the design in your game. Use the notes field for the silhouette and length you are trying to achieve.
If you are comparing two designs, save or download the first plan before replacing its values. Do not treat two plans with different unrecorded fabric quantities as a like-for-like comparison.
Take the plan with you
Save the plan on this browser to keep it after a refresh. Copy a share link to reproduce the same inputs and checklist on another device, or download a PNG card for reference beside the game. A shared link includes the notes you entered, so keep private information out of them.
This worksheet does not connect to your game save, track purchases automatically or calculate customer satisfaction. Its balance is simply budget minus fabric minus accessories.
