What players say the setting changes

meimenghou describes assist automatically turning the fabric while the player manages the sewing pace. In a separate thread, hollister96 describes the same steering help when playing on Steam Deck. The agreement supports trying the setting for a steering problem.

These comments do not establish that assist guarantees a particular quality score or completes the whole commission automatically. Cutting, fabric choices and the requirements of the current brief remain separate decisions.

Try one seam before changing everything

1. Find sewing assist in the settings available in your build.
2. Return to sewing and compare the amount of fabric steering you need to do.
3. Keep control of the pace; pause if the pointer or a held input does not behave as expected.
4. Read the resulting feedback before deciding whether another adjustment is necessary.

Pick a seam you can see clearly and change only the assist setting first. If you also change the input mapping, camera and several other settings at once, it is harder to tell which change helped.

A binding problem needs its own check

Assist cannot supply a keyboard or mouse action that has no binding. On a handheld, test zoom and held controls separately. The Steam Deck guide lists the specific changes players reported and the parts they still found awkward.

If the same input stops responding with assist both on and off, record the control, layout and scene. A useful report explains what you pressed and what happened, rather than simply saying that sewing is broken.

Check whether quality has a maximum

Some requests deliberately ask for poor workmanship. In the Prudence discussion, the original poster was confused because a quality value of 100 was marked red against a requirement of 70. A reply pointed out the maximum, and the poster confirmed that this explained the warning.

If a higher quality result makes the requirement fail, reread the max label before trying to improve every seam. The quality guide explains that distinction without pretending to know a universal scoring formula.
